The short answer
There is no one price for security. Every property is different, so a good security company prices the job after learning about your site. Unarmed guards cost less than armed guards, and mobile patrol usually costs far less than a guard on site all night. Here is what changes the price, so you know what to expect.
What changes the price
Hours and schedule matter most: overnight, weekend and holiday shifts can cost more, and most companies have a minimum shift length. Armed officers cost more because they need a firearm permit, more training and more insurance. The type of site matters too: a quiet office lobby is different from a construction yard or a crowded event. Finally, the number of guards and how long the contract runs both affect the rate.
Why the cheapest quote can cost you more
Very low bids often mean unlicensed guards, no workers compensation insurance, or no supervision. If a guard is hurt on your property or does not show up, you can end up paying for it. Always ask for the company's BSIS Private Patrol Operator license number and a certificate of insurance.
Guard vs. mobile patrol
If you do not need someone on site every minute, mobile patrol can cut costs a lot. A patrol officer visits several times a night at random times, checks doors and gates, removes trespassers and sends photo proof of each visit. Many HOAs and business parks start with patrol and add a guard only on problem nights.
How to get an exact price
Tell the company your address, the days and hours you need, whether you want armed or unarmed officers, and what problems you are having. APS Security usually sends a written quote the same day. Call (833) 388-0071 or request a free quote online.
